■Postscript ——

I attended a conference organized by the European Association for Southeast Asian Studies in Paris. In many ways, including the participation fee, I glimpsed some “legacies” of Western-centeredness surrounding Southeast Asian studies.

Further networking and knowledge production with Southeast Asia-based scholars are our urgent yet long-term tasks. (S)
