The Visual Documentary Project collaborated with the film festival “Kineidoscope 2024”

From November 18 to 20, 2024, the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta held the “Kineidoscope 2024” film festival at the Institut Français Indonesia (IFI) in Yogyakarta. The event, led by students from the university’s cinema club, MM Kine Klub, featured an excellent selection of domestic and international works. As an overseas partner institution, the Center’s Visual Documentary Project (VDP) collaborated by screening three works from the 2023 selection: The Song We Sing in a Different Land (Philippines), Against This Messy World (Malaysia), and Saya di Sini, Kau di Sana (A Tale of the Crocodile’s Twin) (Indonesia).

Assistant Professor Chika Yamada and Assistant Professor Youdiil Ophinni (Hakubi Center for Advanced Research, Kyoto University) made an online appearance at the event to introduce VDP to the audience of Kineidoscope 2024.
