RAHMAN, Sheak Mahfujur
Overview
Mahfujur Rahman (Sunny) is a Spatial Data Technician for the Maritime Asia Heritage Survey (MAHS). He obtained Bachelor and master’s degrees in archaeology from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. His previous experience includes field archaeology, emergency 3D documentation and digital conservation of cultural heritage in climate change affected areas in Bangladesh.
His research specializations are spatial data acquisition and GIS data capture processes to document and archive cultural heritage from Indonesia, Maldives, Thailand, and Japan. At the MAHS he oversees producing 3D visual models, managing digital workflows, and organizing metadata for digital assets created during the project to preserve maritime history and culture of Southeast Asia.
