Shallot Farmers' Resilience in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Understanding the resilience of shallot farmers in Yogyakarta requires a multidimensional approach that considers not only environmental and economic factors but also the social and institutional dynamics that shape farmers' adaptive capacities. Resilience in this context refers to the ability of farmers to anticipate, absorb, and recover from shocks and stresses while maintaining or improving their livelihoods. It encompasses strategies for risk management, diversification of income sources, adoption of innovative farming practices, and leveraging social networks and institutional support. This research aims to explore the resilience of shallot farmers in Yogyakarta in the face of various challenges and threats. This research use descriptive method and involving 150 shallot farmers as respondents. The food security, welfare and stakeholders role in farmers resilience are analysed using statistical analysis, including qualitative approach.
