Book Talk on Lia Kent’s The Unruly Dead: Spirits, Memory, and State Formation in Timor-Leste

We are pleased to announce a book talk by Dr. Lia Kent (Australian National University) on her recently published book, The Unruly Dead: Spirits, Memory, and State Formation in Timor-Leste (University of Wisconsin Press, 2024). Dr. Kent is an established researcher of transnational justice movements and memory politics. The new book is about necropolitics in Timor-Leste. Our plan is to listen to a short book talk by Dr. Lia Kent herself, followed by a dialogue with Dr. Kisho Tsuchiya (CSEAS), another Timor specialist, then to open the discussion to the floor and online attendants. All colleagues and graduate students are welcome.
