Is it possible for marine mammals and human activities to coexist in the sea, backed by a high-density urban area? In the Akashi Strait, boasting one of Japan’s highest volumes of maritime traffic, passive acoustic monitoring revealed that dolphin sightings coincide with the seaweed farming season and that dolphins primarily forage at night.
