On 25 November 2024, Prof. Ming He, Dean of the National Centre for Borderland Ethnic Studies in Southwest China, and five others from Yunnan University visited CSEAS. Director Fumiharu Mieno, Affiliated Prof. Yasuyuki Kono, Professor Satoru Kobayashi, and Assoc. Prof. Yalei Zhai welcomed the delegation and conducted a signing ceremony to conclude an agreement on academic cooperation and exchange between the two institutions. Following the signing ceremony, a joint workshop was held between the two institutions entitled “China and Southeast Asia’s Borderlands: Chances and Challenges.”
