Overview
Research on Material Cycling in Various Ecosystems in Tropical region
I conducted the rehabilitation (planting trees and utilization of biomass for power plant) in degraded land after tin mining in Indonesian Island, as an industry-university joint research. We analyzed satellite and drone information and the dataset of intensive field survey of hydrological and soil chemical and physical condition and submitted a manuscript to international journal.
Human Impacts on Material Cycling in Tropical Forests and Peatlands
I continued field research in tropical peat area in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak province, and in Indonesia (Riau province, Sumatra, Central Kalimantan provinces). I conducted biogeochemical and hydrological research in degraded peatland ecosystems for evaluating the difference in environmental condition between various land uses such as the changes of carbon storage and its flow with the land use changes
Greenhouse Gas Dynamics in Subtropical lakes
In Taiwan and the Philippines, I’m conducting the collaborative research on food-web analyses reservoirs. We compered the inter-latitude differences of greenhouse gas dynamics in reservoirs and published the review paper of “Integrating isotopic, microbial, and modeling approaches to understand methane dynamics in a frequently disturbed deep reservoir in Taiwan” in this fiscal year.
