Constructing Autonomous Region in the Multi-religious and Multi-ethnic Society: Peacebuilding of "Contact Zone" in Southern Philippines

This study aims to reveal how people of different religious and ethnic groups create a new autonomous region in the Southern Philippines by examining the everyday practices of “contact zone” in multi-religious and multi-ethnic communities. Focusing on the three issues of Islamic governance, transitional justice, and land issues, the study explores how the practices of people living in mixed communities with complex emotions toward religious and ethnic others will affect the pledges that politicians will make during the Bangsamoro Parlament elections to be held in 2025 and the formation of post-election laws and systems.
