Introduction of new theoretical epidemiology and medical statistical method in regional specificity research of malaria
The incidence of malaria patients in Sarawak, Malaysia is less than that of malaria in adjacent Indonesia, but about 3000 cases of infectious cases have been reported annually and about 15 people have died. In this study, we analyzed the relationship between changes in the dynamics of malaria patients and various region-specific factors, including climate and race, and examined the preventive method which can be judged effective from the viewpoint of medical economics and medical policy . The applicant has already carried out research focusing on accumulation in epidemiological research related to the subject matter. In this study, considering confounding factors related to region specificity, by introducing a econometric analysis method into conventional epidemiological research, It is possible to introduce analysis of spatiotemporal level which has not yet been implemented in the research field of epidemic infectious diseases.
Structural biological study on occurrence of drug resistant type malaria
In border area of Southeast Asian , placement and use of placebo frequently occurred, which caused death of malaria patients and resistant type malaria occurred due to the use of placebo. In this study, in addition to the study of 1), we investigated by molecular epidemiological method that placebo is involved in the development and diffusion of drug resistant protozoa by flowing into economically poor residents, we clarify that the components contribute to occurrence of resistant malaria.
Factor analysis affecting the convergence of infectious diseases
For infectious diseases that have disappeared in the past, search for factors related to extinction using Markov chain Monte Carlo methods (MCMC) and perform time series analysis of existing infectious diseases.
