Background:
This workshop explores how traditional knowledge and farming systems contribute to sustainable food security in the face of climate change. Focusing on case studies from China and Southeast Asia, it highlights the roles of rice cultivation, landscape practices, and local food systems in promoting biodiversity, environmental resilience, and community livelihoods. Special attention is given to the impacts of extreme weather on ecologically vulnerable regions and to how local adaptation strategies can help build more sustainable and inclusive food futures.
